Please remember the food pantry in your weekly grocery shopping trip. The pantry needs: spaghetti, cereal, hamburger helper, condiments, canned fruit, peanut butter, and jelly.

The next meeting of Caritas, our new young adult fellowship, is tonight, July 28, from 7:00-8:15 p.m. We will meet in Pastor Mark’s office at Centre. All young adults, ages 18-30, are welcome and encouraged to help launch this new group.

As Nancy Martin announced on Sunday, the “Hope in Handbags” purse collection is now. Drop off gently used purses at any Freedom Federal Credit Union. Donated purses will be refurbished and sold at an event held at the Bel Air Armory September 9 and 10. Sale of the purses benefits Harford Family House, a homeless shelter in Aberdeen for families with children (read the August newsletter for a story about Harford Family House!).

Thank you to everyone who contributed funds for our Worship Needs project. We have purchased new Bibles and the Worship and Song hymnal supplement, and we have enough to buy a new projector, which we hope to have soon!

The Welcome One Shelter needs someone to powerwash three outdoor picnic tables. If you can help, please call Rose Nehrebecki, the new volunteer coordinator for the shelter, at 410-272-2229 (tel:410-272-2229) .

When you come to church this Sunday, please plan to use the ramp or the basement entrances to the sanctuary building. Concrete work on the main steps is set to begin Friday, weather permitting.

The next meeting of Caritas, our new young adult fellowship, is tonight, July 14, from 7:00-8:15 p.m. We will meet in Pastor Mark’s office at Centre. All young adults, ages 18-30, are welcome and encouraged to help launch this new group.

Youth group meets this Sunday from 5:30-7:30 p.m. at Centre.

On July 20 at 7:00 p.m. there will be an evening prayer meeting at the Grove at William Watters. Join us for a time of fellowship, singing, and prayer.

This Saturday, July 16, there will be a fundraiser for It is Well International at Broom’s Bloom, 1700 South Fountain Green Road, from 11:00 a.m. until 9:00 p.m. In addition to food and agricultural products, there will be jewelry, and steel band will perform. A portion of all sales will go to fund wells in Africa.

Please be in prayer this week for the
Conference of the Northeastern Jurisdiction of The United Methodist Church. Two new bishops have been selected, and tomorrow the appointments of all bishops will be decided and announced. We are due to receive a new bishop for our area, so please pray that the Conference follows God’s guidance in selecting a bishop who will bind us together in the covenants we have made.

This Sunday we gather at William Watters for our Community Worship Service. There is a combined choir rehearsal in the sanctuary at 9:00 for anyone who would like to sing during the service. The service begins at 10:00 at the Grove and is followed by a potluck. Invite your friends and neighbors!
