This Sunday is the beginning of Daylight Savings! Please be sure to set your clocks one hour ahead before going to bed Saturday night.

We will have a snow-clearing event at the church on this Saturday, March 7, at 10:00 a.m. Bring your shovel and hopefully we can clear the church’s sidewalks quickly. Many hands make light work!

Please mark your calendars for Saturday, March 14, at 1:00 p.m., when we will celebrate the life of Iris Winternitz, Andy’s mother. As Paul tells the Romans, “Rejoice with those who rejoice, mourn with those who mourn” (12:15).

The Food Pantry needs canned fruit, syrup, baked beans, and tuna.

Why not cancel? Centre has been one of the few churches to keep its doors open through all the recent winter storms. Why? Corporate worship, where two or three are gathered in Christ’s name, is the most important thing we do. In fact, we United Methodists believe it is the reason we have a church in the first place (To read our fundamental beliefs about the church, follow this link (http://www.umc.org/what-we-believe/confession-of-faith) and scroll down to Article V; you can also follow this link (http://www.umc.org/what-we-believe/the-articles-of-religion-of-the-methodist-church) and scroll down to Article XIII). Our beliefs mean we should only cancel worship services when safety dictates that no one can or should be trying to get to church. And I’ve been thrilled to see how many people do come, in spite of the bad weather. What a great thing!
